SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT

At the 3rd quarter local membership meeting held in BOS September 9th, 2026, nominations were accepted for all local leadership positions.   Election Committee members are Heidi Andrews, from PVD, Cindy Dillon, from BDL and Robyn Spartichino, from BOS. 

The Secretary/Treasurer provided the Election Committee with four lists, one for each processing unit in the Local. The committee used these lists during nominations to verify both the nominee’s membership status and the membership status of the person making the nomination. Heidi Andrews then presented the election timeline and read the election rules. 

Unopposed Nominees:

President – Edward McGuinness
Secretary/Treasurer – Jane Crompton
Northeast Area Representative – Brad Butterworth
Metro NY Area Representative – Lisa Antonacci (1 of 2)
Metro NY Area Representative – Sharon Boyd (2 of 2)
Upstate NY Area Representative – Mahlon Robinson

Certification of Unopposed Candidates

At the Election Committee’s request, the Secretary/Treasurer will declare all unopposed candidates duly elected after the 10-day challenge period ends uneventfully on September 19, 2026.

There will be an election for the Office of Executive Vice-President. 
Two candidates were nominated: Gina Ricci and Abdullah Mahmoud. 

Accordingly, the election for Executive Vice President will be conducted according to the timeline above and in compliance with the Local bylaws, the CWA Constitution, and DOL guidelines.

Election Timeline

1. October 14, 2026: Deadline for all ballots to be prepared and mailed.
2. November 4, 2026: Ballots will be counted at the Local office.
3. November 14, 2026: Challenge period ends. If no challenges are filed, the election may be certified.
