AA Contract Negotiations Update
As you may know, our CWA-IBT Association bargaining team will begin negotiating a new collective agreement with American Airlines very soon. To help us prepare for bargaining, we asked members to respond to a survey about priorities for the new contract. Thousands of you answered the call—and the message you sent came in loud and clear:
The majority of passenger service agents responding to the survey ranked base pay as their first priority by far.
After base pay, agents focused on job security, health care benefits, and seniority as their top issues.
Our bargaining team is now studying the issues and preparing to bring your concerns to the table when negotiations begin in late summer. We are ready to fight for a strong contract that reflects your priorities. And we need your support if we’re going to win. We have struggled and sacrificed these last two difficult years to help American stay in business. Now it’s time to stand together and demand the wages and benefits we deserve as frontline workers.
Solidarity is the key to winning our fight for a better contract. Show your support for the bargaining team and our shared goals by staying informed. In the coming weeks, we'll share more information about how you can get involved. In the meantime, you should:
• Make sure you’re signed up to receive bargaining updates by email and text message. Be sure to update your personal email address and cellphone number with your local and us.
• Encourage your friends at work to sign up for updates if they haven't already.
• Follow us on Facebook and visit our website at https://www.american-agents.org/ where we’ll post the latest updates on bargaining and mobilization.
